Three Seasons. Thirty Decisions. Always Against Us.
I have kept records. A spreadsheet, actually — because I am an engineer by profession and I trust data over memory.
Every disputed call in our league games since August 2022. Every disallowed goal. Every phantom foul. Every penalty not given. Every VAR review that somehow reversed decisions only when they benefited the same three clubs.
What I found wasn't bad luck. Thirty-one incidents documented. Twenty-seven of them went against my club, or went in favor of the clubs with the largest commercial relationships with the federation. The other four were genuinely ambiguous — I gave those to the house.
I sent the spreadsheet to two sports journalists. One said "interesting" and never replied again. The other told me my methodology was "amateurish" but could not explain specifically why. Neither published anything.
I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am a person who made a table with columns and looked at what it told me. What it told me has destroyed my ability to believe the game I love is real anymore.
My son wants to start watching with me. I don't know if I can let him. I don't know what I would tell him when it happens again — and it will happen again — and he asks me why.
